On a wintery day in
the Gorge, owners Christi and Phillip shared a glass of Merlot at Maryhill winery.
Savoring the rich flavors and scenic view, they thought how others might enjoy
Gorge wineries without having to drive.
An idea was started to form Hood River Tours, and specialize in taking guests
on custom private wine tours of the region.
"By the next summer
we had started booking guests and formed a partnership with Celilo Inn , The
Best Western, and Vineyard View B&B to offer package room and wine tours.
We wanted our tours to be led by only local guides that were educated
in wine and really knew the Gorge.
We put together a half day custom
tour package where guests are taken to our favorite wineries in Hood River
such as Cathedral Ridge, Pheasant Valley, Marchesi, Viento, or Hood Crest, or
the wineries in Washington such as Maryhill, Marshal's, Jacob Williams, and Syncline.
Couples really enjoy the romantic getaway and uniqueness of the tour"

It makes a great gift and a special way to see the sights of
the Columbia Gorge.
We often make impromptu stops at Hood River shopping and
local Fruit stands along the way. The guests make local purchases and help to
support the community.
